Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog!
Does anyone else miss the simplicity of life before we all had to grow up. When the biggest issue you had to face was what do you play with next. If you’re like me, and enjoy reminiscing of simpler times, then this post is for you. Just recently I went through things in my loft, and it inspired me to write this post.
I hope you enjoy it!
It was like a ritual. Every morning before I had to get ready for school, I would run downstairs and put on Cartoon Network with all of my favourite shows, while I ate breakfast.
It wasn’t just for Halloween! I still remember how awesome I felt with fairy wings and a tutu on! You’re never too old to be a fairy princess!
Remember going to a friend’s birthday and going home with a balloon? I used to get so excited about seeing balloons!
Who else remembers these things? Everyone I knew had one. I remember the heartbreak after I killed mine, and vowing things would be different with the next one. Never happened though…
ANY Disney movie. Didn’t matter which one. I loved them all. Even watching them now brings back the memories or sitting in my bean bag chair, clutching my teddy bear and attempting to sing to the songs. Good times.
Rubber duck arm floaties!
Anyone who had these as kids, probably remembered your mum shoving them onto arms against your will. But you don’t notice them after a while. Anyone who was anyone, had rubber duck arm floaties! They were definitely for the cool kids.
Today, they’re just stuffed animals. Back then, these were life. They were like my unofficial children. I remember all of their names and which ones were my favourites to cuddle up with. I think I have over 300…they were my biggest pride and joy.
Stick on earrings.
If you grew up in a household like mine, with parents who didn’t approve of piercing their child, these were perfect. You could get any kind of shape and colour, and all you had to do was stick them on your ear. Brilliant!
Watching brand new Friends.
I’ve spoken about it before, and it probably won’t be the last. My favourite show is and will always be Friends. It just never gets old. But when I was a kid, I remember sitting in the living room with my mum and watching brand new episodes. I even remember watching the very last episode in a hotel room with my mother, the day before we went to Florida. Right in the feels.
Groovy Chick everything.
I remember being very jealous of my best friend’s bedroom, who had Groovy Chick everything. Bedding, curtains, cushions, even a rug. It was all the rage to have Groovy Chick.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed this post and maybe it even brought back some of your own memories. Why not leave me a comment?
